Goondiwindi Unveils New Tourism Website to Showcase the Region
Published on 03 December 2024
Goondiwindi Regional Council is thrilled to announce the launch of a brand new tourism website, Visit Goondiwindi Region (www.visitgoondiwindiregion.com). This modern website platform aims to transform how we promote our region – not just as a stopover, but a vibrant destination with something for everyone.
The new website follows consultation with local tourism volunteers and operators, along with industry experts, ensuring the website delivers all the information visitors need.
In conjunction with the website launch, Council is also unveiling an exciting social media campaign with a primary focus on showcasing the Goondiwindi Region to visitors from further afield. We encourage everyone to follow @VisitGoondiwindiRegion on Facebook and Instagram and to share your stories, photos, and videos using #visitgoondiwindiregion tag.
Mayor of the Goondiwindi Region the Honourable Cr Lawrence Springborg AM said the goal of the new website and social media campaign is to establish a strong digital presence that bolsters our visitor economy, while also providing a free platform for local tourism businesses and organisations to list their services and connect with potential visitors.
"By encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore our region, we can directly support local businesses and strengthen our regional economy,” the Mayor said. “We are very fortunate to have a region full of great attractions, cafes, B&Bs, and unique shops – and the new website is our commitment to showcasing the best of our towns and making it easier for visitors to plan their trip and find all that our area has to offer.”
The user-friendly website is designed for both mobile and desktop devices, and provides detailed information on local dining, arts, outdoor adventures, and accommodation options. Downloadable brochures, regular blogs, town-specific information, and curated itineraries will help visitors make the most of their stay. Whether it be exploring historic museums or hidden artwork, embarking on outdoor adventures, or simply finding the perfect pub meal – it’s all at their fingertips.
A key feature of the website is the event calendar, showcasing everything from our iconic events such as Hell of the West and the Texas Country Music Festival to local weekly markets and charity fundraisers.
Local event coordinators can advertise their activities – for free - to residents and visitors alike. Users can log in to submit and manage their own event details, ensuring up-to-date information for visitors.
“We encourage local involvement and want everyone to be part of promoting a great region,” Cr Springborg said. "Whether you're a local resident with family and friends coming to visit, travelling for a sporting event or to conduct business, or a traveller planning your next adventure, Visit Goondiwindi Region has great ideas for how to explore the entire region,"
