Tourists visiting the Goondiwindi Region who are working on the perfect golf swing will be able to play and stay at the Goondiwindi Golf Club after Council approved an application for the development of an on-site tourist park.

The Park will accommodate nine self-sufficient caravans or motorhomes with the aim to attract visitors to the Region for a maximum stay at the Golf Course of two days; however, the mobile homes must be fully self-contained as defined in Council’s relevant subordinate Local Law.

Mayor of the Goondiwindi Region, the Honourable Cr Lawrence Springborg AM said RV tourism is a strong market for the Goondiwindi Region.

“The Goondiwindi Golf Club is a great asset for the community and the addition of the tourist park will continue to support its progress,” said Cr Springborg who also hold the portfolio for Economic Development, Tourism and Events.

“Visitors to the region will be able to come to the Golf Club, park their mobile home, have some refreshments, and play golf all in the same area.

“The Goondiwindi region warmly welcomes visitors who want to make the journey to experience ‘Regional Australia at its Best’,” he said.
