  • For the very first time, Council's Ordinary Meeting will be held at the Talwood Community Centre on Wednesday 27 September
  • Everyone is welcome to attend and observe the meeting from 9 am
  • After the meeting, residents are welcome to discuss local issues and ideas for the area

Goondiwindi Regional Council will hold the first-ever Ordinary Meeting (OM) at Talwood on Wednesday, 27 September.

After the meeting, residents will have the opportunity to meet with the Mayor and his fellow councillors to discuss local issues, projects, and ideas for the area, while enjoying morning tea.

Goondiwindi Regional Council Mayor, the Honourable Cr Lawrence Springborg AM said it’s a great opportunity to connect face-to-face with the local residents at the Talwood Community Centre.

"Representing a vast local government area like ours has its challenges, and I know a lot of locals don't have the time or ability to get to our Ordinary Meetings held monthly in Goondiwindi or further afield in Texas and Inglewood once a year," Cr Springborg said. “Councillors and staff regularly visit our western areas, however it's important to provide our western residents with an opportunity to attend a local meeting in their own community.”

“These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for the community to attend and share their views and opinions.”

The meeting's timing coincides with several key community inspections, demonstrating Council's dedication to strengthening the area's development and the Council's proactive approach to addressing issues and shaping the future of the Talwood community.

Date: Wednesday 27 September

Location: Talwood Community Centre

Time: The meeting is open to the public from 9.00 am

A morning tea will follow after the Ordinary Meeting.
