DIVE IN TO SUMMER! POOLS RE-OPEN ACROSS THE REGION

The public swimming pools across the Goondiwindi Region will open next week for the summer season.

The pools in Goondiwindi, Inglewood and Texas will open on Monday 17 September, a week before the school holidays start.

Swimmers are advised that the Texas pool’s operating hours will be changed from the previous season. The changes will reflect typical patronage of the pool and will see no reduction in total hours open.

The new hours will hopefully better suit swimmers’ preferences.

This year, the Texas pool will be open to the public 11 am – 6 pm Monday to Saturday, with early morning sessions open 6 am – 8 am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Sundays and public holidays will open 12 pm – 6 pm.

The Goondiwindi and Inglewood pools’ opening times will remain unchanged.

All three of the region’s public swimming pools are owned by Goondiwindi Regional Council and privately leased.

Taking a dip may be a welcome relief from the dry conditions faced by many in the region, and Mayor Graeme Scheu said he hoped the community would continue to make great use of the public pools.

‘We really are very lucky in our region to have such fantastic public swimming facilities,’ Mayor Scheu said.

‘Council is very aware that the community regards the pools as some of the region's most important assets, and they provide an essential service to local swim clubs, schools, residents and visitors.’

Complete opening hours, admission prices and swimming safety tips can be found at the Goondiwindi Regional Council website.
