WEATHER UPDATE - 11 NOVEMBER – GOONDIWINDI

« Back

Following a briefing from the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) this morning, Goondiwindi Regional Council is advising Goondiwindi residents to expect below moderate flooding (which is below the levee bank height) in the coming days.

Mayor of the Goondiwindi Region the Honourable Cr Lawrence Springborg AM is asking residents to remain alert.

“The latest BoM forecasts have reduced the amount of rain previously predicted, with some chance of isolated storms delivering heavy falls.  This may result in some road closures and residents should continue to monitor road conditions,” Cr Springborg said.

We never know how much rain we will get, and where, until it is in the gauge,” he said. “It’s therefore important that we are cautious, remain prepared and be safe.”

Council and the Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) will continue to monitor the situation closely.
