Goondiwindi Region Flood Update #3 – Inglewood Residents to Evacuate Now

« Back

The situation in Inglewood is rapidly changing, with a very quick river rise in the Macintyre Brook and revised major flood threat from the Bureau of Meteorology which will likely impact the whole of Inglewood town.

The Local Disaster Management Group is directing residents to IMMEDIATELY evacuate to the local Evacuation Assembly Point at the Inglewood Cemetery on Tobacco Road, approximately 2km southwest of Inglewood.

There are reports of significant rises in the Macintyre Brook system and it is recommended that residents DO NOT attempt to travel out of town.

The Evacuation Assembly Point is not an Evacuation Centre and has basic facilities, therefore residents need to bring with them:

  • Food and water
  • Sleeping equipment – e.g. swag, pillow, blankets, sheets
  • Medication
  • Spare clothing
  • Important documents e.g. insurance papers
  • Mobile phone and charger
  • If available, tents and/or caravans are encouraged

If you need assistance or have questions about the evacuation, please contact SES on 132 500.
