Goondiwindi Region Flood Update #10 – Yelarbon & Texas – 2 December 2021

Texas

The Dumaresq River at Texas has peaked at 8.67m this morning, this is below the Jan 2011 level of 9.21 m. 

Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) is now moving to recovery phase for Texas. 

Council staff are currently undertaking assessments on local roads as water recedes.

Yelarbon

The Macintyre Brook system impacting the Yelarbon township is currently peaking. 

There are no reports of inundation within the town area nor reports to infrastructure damage. 

Yelarbon town is currently isolated due to numerous road closures and this is likely to remain the case through to at least the weekend. 

The evacuation centre at Goondiwindi will remain open for those residents that evacuated.

The Local Disaster Management Group is continuing to monitor the situation.
