« Back

The Weir River at Talwood is likely to reach the major flood level (4.00 m) during Tuesday.

BoM predicts that the river level is likely to peak at Talwood between 4.20 and 4.50 metres during Wednesday or Thursday, in the vicinity of the September 1998 flood peak of 4.36 metres.   The peak prediction will be refined as upstream peaks are recorded.

Some residents west of Goondiwindi will be cut off for weeks, so please look out for each other and make contact as per the contact details below if you require assistance.

The Yarrill Creek area has experienced record breaking water level heights, we encourage residents with impacted properties to explore available support.

For impacted rural properties we are seeking additional financial consideration for the region.  To build the case for this support, please report any damage to the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries on 13 25 23.

The Macintyre River at Goondiwindi is now falling after a pro-longed peak over the weekend.  The 24/7 quad bike patrols have finished, however Council still requires access to continue monitoring and requests that sandbags and markers remain in situ.

The Local Disaster Management Group remains active and closely monitoring the situation across the region.

The Cunningham Highway between Goondiwindi and Inglewood has this afternoon [Monday] been opened, expect long delays.  The Gore Highway between Goondiwindi and Millmerran is likely to be opened later this week.
