Inglewood Trail Ride Recognized

Goondiwindi Regional Council is pleased to award the Inglewood State School P&C Trail Ride funding under its new Tourism Events Grant.  The trail ride is a family friendly event with peewee through to open ride categories.  Part of the attraction of the Inglewood Trail Ride is the amazing facility, and the fact the event coincides with the Easter school holidays, 14-15 April 2018.

The Trail Ride attracts around 1000 people each year and strongly encourages families to stay a few nights in the region. The economic value of the event to the region is estimated to exceed over $250,000, as well as being an exciting fundraiser for the hard working committee.

Goondiwindi Regional Council actively supports and promotes many events across our region.

Council’s Tourism Event Grant has been established in recognition of the key role events play in fostering regional tourism and economic development.  Events are a cost-effective way of promoting a region and its attractions, as they attract tourists in their own right.

Mayor Graeme Scheu said, “As a community, we all benefit from tourism and the tourism dollars spent in the region. The Inglewood State School P&C Committee have done a marvellous job of growing this event in Inglewood, and as a Council we are proud to able to support them as they deliver a quality experience and continue to grow bigger and better”.
