GOONDIWINDI MEDITRANS SERVICE

The Goondiwindi Meditrans Service is up and running.

The pilot project, offered by the Goondiwindi Regional Council and supported by the Darling Downs and West Moreton Primary Health Network Ltd and the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service is coordinated by Sue Salisbury, has already made some much-needed trips to Toowoomba.

The Toyota RAV so generously donated by Tait Motors Goondiwindi will be driven by volunteer drivers to assist those in our community experiencing difficulty accessing essential medical appointments in Toowoomba. The service will give those eligible for the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme priority.

The service urgently requires additional volunteer drivers.

“This is a much-needed service within our community and needs the support of the community to ensure its continued success,” said Mayor Graeme Scheu.

If you are able to donate a little of your time to assist with this worthy service or if you would like any further information about the program, please contact Sue Salisbury through the Goondiwindi Regional Council on 07 4671 7400, the Goondiwindi Medical Centre on 07 4671 1444, or direct on 0436 668 763.
