STAGE TWO INSTALLATION NEW ELECTRONIC NOTICEBOARDS

INGLEWOOD & GOONDIWINDI

The community will notice over the coming weeks the installation of an additional two (2) new  electronic noticeboards – one in front of the Inglewood SES building and the other in front of the Council Chambers at 4 McLean Street Goondiwindi.

As previously advised, Goondiwindi Regional Council received a funding grant under the Queensland Government’s 2016/17 Grants and Subsidies Program (Natural Disaster Resilience) to install two (2) Electronic Noticeboards in Goondiwindi. Council has since allocated additional funding under its 2017/18 Budget to enable the purchase and installation of an electronic noticeboard at Inglewood.

Noticeboard 1 was installed in late 2016 at the Goondiwindi Town Park along the Marshall Street frontage.  The sign is successfully being used to display Council messages and community events notices.

Mayor Graeme Scheu said “The additional noticeboards will be used in the same manner as the existing Noticeboard that is, to communicate council information (particularly in the lead up to and during flood events and/or other types of disaster events) with availability to display community events information during the quieter periods.”

Council has established Guidelines and Procedures for use of the Electronic Noticeboards together with a Request to Display Notice Form. These documents are readily available on Council’s website www.grc.qld.gov.au.
