NEW LESSEE FOR TEXAS POOL

Goondiwindi Regional Council confirmed at the Ordinary Meeting of Council today that Jo Bell is to be offered the lease of the Texas Pool for a three-year period.

Jo was one of five applicants for the position and one of three interviewed following the resignation of Danni Colley recently. Jo brings a wealth of experience in pools following a very successful stint at the Longreach Pool.

Jo has recently moved to Yelarbon with her partner and is keen to adopt the new district as home.  The couple are looking at relocating to Texas when and if the opportunity arises.  As well as an experienced Pool Lessee, Jo is also a competency-based trainer with Royal Lifesaving Queensland, which brings skills to allow her to train and license other lifeguards that will be a benefit to the district.

Mayor Graeme Scheu confirmed a panel of six was in place for the interviews, which provided feedback to the Council.  “It was a very close decision but in the end, Council believes that Jo is the right person for the job.  There are also plans for extra activities like Aqua-Aerobics and Dive-In Movies during the summer months.

Jo will commence duties in September and is keen to get around Texas and meet as many as possible and is open to any ideas to create greater use of the pool.
